Toshiko Horiuchi-MacAdam is a master of cfratsmanship. She uses her crocheting to build large scale playgrounds where children can launch, roll and play in a web of undulating colour. Working with a team of consultants including architects and engineers, Horiuchi-MacAdams believes in bringing joy through creativity and finds great pleasure in watching the soft fabric transform and come alive as the children’s stretch, climb and swing on the materials.
The Crochet Playground
It’s mesmerizing to look at and must be even more amazing to engage with. This would make for a fabulous experiential piece and I look forward to her creating an even larger version for all us big kids out there; in the lower floors of Tate Modern perhaps?...you heard it here first.
